Silicracy

Doomscrolling is over. You may find it hard to believe, but AI will make us more human.

A few years ago, I thought the middle class would vanish in 5-10 years, giving way to an elite in governments and high stake positions, and a large group of lower class, braking the normal distribution we’ve been enjoying worldwide for the past few decades1. With the recent advances in AI, the theory still stands, and one might even think we have more reason to believe in it, but there has been a fundamental shift: elites won’t be the ones in charge, LLMs will.

Throughout the past decade or two, the human race has been self lobotomized, in a way the film idiocracy depicted predicted very accurately. Examples are abundant. You don’t need to do research, just look around.

AI comes at the perfect time, and will fill the gap nicely. AI will exercise critical thought, will fill in ambitions, and will produce will. LLMs will be very human in these, and other traits of life, making it hard to tell the difference between a natural, human thought or opinion, and the real one. But don’t get me wrong, this is good news. This is the best piece of news in decades.

When AI becomes mainstream2, watching an AI generate video will be uninteresting, being waited by a robot will be boring, reading AI generated novels will be unpleasant. It is my prediction that human, authentic, artesanal creations and services are about to rise in value exponentially. People will live further away from their screens as voice interfaces become more reliable. Doom scrolling will take a nose dive. Mistrust and doubt will be refined, and security will be improved. We are about to live the most golden of ages for the human being, and we are lucky enough to be alive to witness it.
