Work life balance

I hope this culture survives.

I trust this culture will survive.

The passion, the urge, the hustle. The desire to do more, to be better, to outdo oneself. The enthusiasm, fearless drive despite ones failures.

Crops didn't grow 9-5 a century ago. I'm impressed by how quickly we've grown into this severance.

An individual’s memory is too short to remember, which is why kids study history at school, but not long ago, there was no work-life balance. This division, is a recent invention. Coincidentally it has grown together with depression and a few other mental disorders that where never a common issue.

People living and working was just all part of the same thing.

  • Romans didn’t watch Netflix
  • A Greek farmer wouldn’t take paternity leave
  • A medieval blacksmith didn’t have a “side hustle”
  • Renaissance painters didn’t negotiate for unlimited PTO Life is hard, your body and mind are not meant to chill and have a good time at the pool forever. Millions of years of evolution didn’t design the human body and mind for work-life balance. That’s why people get sick.
